Indication: Arnuity Ellipta can help control asthma symptoms but is not a cure. It is also essential to understand the differences between rescue medicines like Ventolin or Duoneb and Arnuity Ellipta, which are long-term controllers of asthma symptoms that aim to reduce the incidence and severity of attacks. Arnuity Ellipta contains fluticasone furoate, an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) medicine. ICS helps to minimize symptoms of asthma by reducing airway inflammation, which makes it harder to breathe. The exact mechanism of how ICSs work in asthma has yet to be discovered. Arnuity Ellipta is to be taken in one inhalation daily, preferably at the same time every day. Arnuity Ellipta is not intended for and should not be used to treat sudden asthma symptoms. Arnuity Ellipta does not replace your rescue inhaler. Arnuity Ellipta is available by prescription only. Note : Arnuity Ellipta is not to be confused with Trelegy Ellipta, a long-term, once-daily maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Trelegy Ellipta is NOT indicated for the relief of acute bronchospasm or the treatment of asthma.
