Voltaren Emulgel

Voltarin Emulgel (generic name: diclofenac sodium) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) gel that can reduce inflammation, pain, swelling and stiffness in joints caused by strain, arthritis, sports injuries such as tennis elbow, and soft tissue rheumatism. Voltaren Emulgel is available OTC and does not require a prescription.
NSAIDs like diclofenac can block the specific COX enzyme the body uses to produce prostaglandins. Reducing the level of prostaglandins can help relieve inflammation and associated pain.
Voltaren Emulgel is an effective and fast-acting way to relieve pain and swelling that are symptoms of gout . However, Voltaren Emulgel may not produce relief for as long as oral diclofenac does, and it does not address the underlying cause of gout, which is high uric acid levels. Dosage The dosage is based on your condition and how you responsed to the treatment. Gently rub just enough of the gel to barely cover the entire affected area. The treatment shold not be applied more than four times each day. Do not apply the gel onto areas that have cuts, infections, or rashes.
Do not apply more than 15 grams of gel each day to a single area of a lower limb (knee, ankle etc.) or more than 8 grams to a single area on the upper body (elbow, wrist, hand, etc.) In total,  not more than 32 grams of diclofenac should be applied on a single day.
