Onglyza (generic name: saxagliptin) is an oral medication that helps control blood sugar levels for people with type 2Â diabetes. It regulates the levels of insulin produced in the body after eating. Onglyza is sometimes used in combination with other diabetes medications. It is not used for treating type 1 diabetes. Dosage Adhere to the treatment regimen as recommended by the doctor. Onglyza can be taken with or without food at any time during the day but should be taken at the same time each day. If too high a dosage is accidentally taken or if a child has accidentally swallowed the tablets, call for emergency aid or go to a hospital emergency room and take the package with you. If a scheduled dose is missed, it can be made up for as
soon as remembered, but only on the same day. Do not double dose to make up for missed doses.

Indication: Onglyza is used to treat people with type 2 diabetes in cases in which sugar levels are not adequately controlled when using a single anti-diabetic medicine. Onglyza may be taken along with other diabetes drugs, such as metformin.
