Voltaren Eye Drops (generic name: diclofenac sodium) contain nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that are prescribed to reduce pain after cataract or corneal refractive surgery
Cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes promote chemicals called prostaglandins, which promote inflammation in the body. After surgery, there are high levels of prostaglandins in that area of the body so it becomes inflamed and painful. Diclofenac is a COX inhibitor that can reduce the levels of prostaglandins and so can help relieve discomfort and associated pain by reducing inflammation.
Voltaren Eye Drops require a doctor’s prescription.

Brand Manufacturer: Novartis
